A powerful voice for all children
A relevant resource for families and communities
A strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.
Membership Has Its Advantages
The Parent Teachers Association is the oldest and largest child advocacy association in America. Today’s P.T.A. is comprised of more than 4 million teachers and parents who share a commitment to improving the education, health and safety of all children. We speak with one voice for every child.
Today, the issues that affect our children extend far beyond their individual schools. The P.T.A.’s nationwide network provides parents with the forum and the tools to collectively influence the decisions that affect children at their schools, throughout their districts, within their states, and across the nation.
Many of the benefits our children receive today, such as universal kindergarten and the National School Lunch Program, were accomplished because of the P.T.A.’s mission.
With today’s P.T.A., families also have access to dozens of national resources including:
- Regular updates and advice in the form of e-newsletters on org, including Our Children magazine.
- Leadership development through webinars and e-learning courses
- Cost savings from national retailers and other P.T.A. partners
- T.A. conventions and conferences for emerging minority leaders, male mentors, and other specialty advocates
In addition to our network of resources, the Parent Teachers Association includes a network of millions of parents and support services and staff to help establish and manage our P.T.A., along with millions of dollars in grants to help build the P.T.A.’s capacity and skills.
Membership in the P.T.A. has its advantages. For questions, or to join the P.T.A., contact a board member today!
